New Website Functionality now Online

Date:01/04/2005

The last six months have been a busy time for the development of new customer functionality for the Southern Cross Website.

September saw the introduction of web based Network Availability Reports. These reports provide our customers with a monthly overview of the performance of their Southern Cross circuits. The information provided in this report includes availability information for each individual customer circuit, overall availability information and details of any network incidents that impacted on their service.

The “My Circuits” table was brought online in March 2005 and can be found in the Your Data area of the Customer Section. This table is designed to provide our customers with a quick and easy way of seeing their activated Southern Cross circuits, how many MIU Points each circuit consumed and the current balance of unassigned MIU Points.

Early April saw the launch of web based Capacity Request forms in trial mode. This functionality enables our customers to manage the assignment, activation, reconfiguration and disconnection of their Southern Cross capacity online. “We are very excited about this new functionality” says Struan Millward, Southern Cross’s Network Provisioning Manager, “moving this process online means that our customers will have everything they need to know about their Southern Cross Capacity Requests at their fingertips and the process will be more efficient and user friendly”.

Fiona Beck, Southern Cross’s CEO and President is also very positive about the new offerings “Southern Cross is constantly striving to improve its service levels and the quality of information provided to customers, this new website functionality is a key milestone that we hope will be of ongoing value to customers” said Ms Beck.

This new functionality is available to all Southern Cross customers via the secure Customer Section of the Southern Cross Website (www.southerncrosscables.com).
