The 2005 year for the telecommunications industry was once again kicked off with the annual PTC Conference in Honolulu, Hawaii. The theme of this year’s conference was Broadband and Content: From Wires to Wireless. One of the highlights of the conference was the demonstrations of advanced applications of broadband.
Southern Cross again took the opportunity to be involved with PTC and our President and CEO Fiona Beck co-presented a session entitled “Driving Bandwidth–hungry Applications: SXTransPORT – the infrastructure to support e-science”. “Once again we are very proud to participate in PTC” said Ms Beck, “this year’s programme was varied and interesting and the conference was well attended with I believe over 900 delegates from more than 50 countries attending. PTC is an important event in Southern Cross’s calendar and is a valuable opportunity for us to meet face to face with our customers and industry colleagues”.
