Fiona Beck CEO

Fiona was appointed to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer for Southern Cross Cable Network in May 2001.

Prior to this Fiona represented Telecom New Zealand as a Director on the Board of Southern Cross Cable Network. During her time at Telecom Fiona was responsible for Telecom's Corporate planning, capital investment reviews and corporate advisory service. Fiona is the current President of SubOptic.
 
Fiona is a chartered accountant and holds a Bachelor of Management Studies (Honours) degree in Accounting and Finance from Waikato University, New Zealand.

Nikki Shone General Counsel & Commercial Director

Nikki joined Southern Cross in 2008. Prior to joining Southern Cross was a senior counsel with Telecom New Zealand for over 7 years. Nikki holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) (Honours 1st Class) and a Bachelor of Business Studies, Accounting and Finance, and is a Chartered Accountant as well as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Courts of New Zealand and NSW Australia. Nikki has a Diploma in Dispute Resolution, and is an Associate of the Arbitrators and Mediators Institute New Zealand, and has recently also completed a Diploma in Law and Policy of the Sea from Rhodes Academy.

Ronnie Nathu Finance Director

Ronnie has been with Southern Cross for over 10 years having previously held Senior Investment positions within Telecom New Zealand. Ronnie Accounting & Charted Accounting degree qualifications from Victoria University in Wellington.

Ross Pfeffer Director Sales & Marketing

Ross has been with Southern Cross for over 10 years holding various Sales positions within the company and shaping the company’s business and sales strategies. Ross holds degree qualifications from Victoria University in Wellington.

Dean Veverka Director Networks & VP Operations

Dean has been with Southern Cross for over 10 years holding various operational and technical positions in Southern Cross and previously in Optus and OTC Limited. Dean is the current Chairman of the International Submarine Cable Protection Committee (ICPC), and Treasurer of the North American Submarine Cable Association (NASCA).

Seng Keat Ooi - SingTel

Seng Keat is well known in the submarine and telecommunications industry, particularly in the Asia-Pacific where he has been involved in a number of cable systems. Seng Keat has been with SingTel for 22 years and is their current Vice President of Submarine Cables & Ventures.

Ben White – SingTel Optus

Ben is currently the Vice President of Marketing and Strategy at Optus Wholesale, having held previous positions as Director Strategy, Corporate Development and Regulation at Optus and has over 10 years’ experience at Bain & Company consulting.

Rod Snodgrass – Telecom New Zealand

Rod is the current Chief Product Officer at Telecom New Zealand and brings broad experience in all aspects of strategy, commercial, business development and finance. Rod has held various previous positions with Telecom New Zealand, including Group Strategy Director, along with positions at Xtera and Ericsson Cellular.

Nick Clarke – Telecom New Zealand

Nick is currently General Manager Telecom Wholesale & International at Telecom New Zealand. With the demerger of Telecom and Chorus, Telecom Wholesale is now a separate business unit within Telecom providing telecommunication services to service providers in New Zealand. Nick was previously Head of Industry Relations at Telecom, and was previously with Woosh Wireless.

Ihab Tarazi - Verizon

Ihab is the current Vice President of Global Planning & Technology in Verizon having held various previous positions within Verizon and MCI. Ihab holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Maryland, and a Masters of Engineering from Southern Methodist University.
